Privacy Policy

Leanspresso helps you track what you eat. To do that we handle some personal and health-related information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Leanspresso (“Leanspresso”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Rozek Industries Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. For the purposes of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, Rozek Industries Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers the Leanspresso mobile apps and the Leanspresso website.

Information we collect

We collect the following, all to provide and improve the app’s features:

• Account information — your email address, and optionally your name, used to create and secure your account. Authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk.
• Meals you log — the photos, voice recordings, text descriptions, barcodes, and corrections you submit so the app can identify the food and estimate its nutrition.
• Health & fitness data — the calories and macronutrients of your meals, your calorie and macro targets, water intake, and logged weight.
• Subscription & purchase data — which plan you hold and the purchase records needed to grant access. Card and payment details are handled by Apple, Google, or Stripe and are never seen or stored by us.
• Usage & diagnostics — basic product-interaction and crash data used to keep the app working and to fix problems.

We do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How your meals are analyzed

When you log a meal by photo, voice, or text, that content is sent to trusted third-party artificial-intelligence providers — currently Google (Gemini), OpenAI, and Anthropic — which analyze it on our behalf to identify the food and estimate its nutrition. These providers act as our service providers (processors): they process your content only to return a result to Leanspresso and are not permitted to use it to train their own models for their own purposes, to advertise to you, or to sell it.

How we use your information

• To identify your food and calculate calories, macros, budgets, streaks, and trends.
• To create your account, sign you in, and keep it secure.
• To provide, manage, and renew your subscription and grant the right access level.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
• To comply with our legal obligations.

Our lawful bases (UK/EU GDPR) are: performance of our contract with you (to run the app you signed up for), your consent (for optional inputs such as camera, microphone, and photo access, which you can withdraw in your device settings), our legitimate interests (security, diagnostics, and improving the service), and compliance with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with service providers that help us run Leanspresso, under contracts that require them to protect it:

• AI analysis — Google, OpenAI, Anthropic (meal photos, voice, and text).
• Authentication — Clerk (account and sign-in).
• Hosting & database — our cloud infrastructure providers.
• Payments — Apple, Google, and Stripe (subscription billing).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records (for example, transaction records) to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Diagnostic data is kept only as long as needed to resolve issues.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@leanspresso.app. You can delete your account and data at any time — see our account deletion page. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit. We restrict access to personal data to those who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

International transfers

We and our service providers may process your data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Leanspresso is intended for adults and is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
